The best way to reach me is through email if you have questions. I will check my email regularly between the hours of 7 a.m and 7 p.m. I am usually available Fridays after school to answer questions or offer extra support. If these times don't work, I am happy to make other arrangements as needed.

My Teaching Philosophy

I am new to teaching this year and have a lot to learn, but I have always been inspired by the holistic approach of the Waldorf teaching style. I enjoy learning through art, nature, and the environment whenever possible. I like the idea of creating a rhythm to the day, staying connected to seasonal changes, and providing a space for the spirit and the body to stay connected to all the information the mind is taking in. My hope is to make learning fun and foster a sense of creativity in what we are doing with engaging activities students can make connections to. This is my son, Jett. When we were homeschooling in 2020, we took a trip to Chinatown in San Francisco to learn about the Chinese New Year.

About Me

I was born in Salinas, CA. Growing up, I moved around a lot and went to school in big cities like Las Vegas and San Francisco which exposed me to a lot of different cultures and the excitement of urban life. That was juxtaposed to graduating high school in a rural community in the foothills near Yosemite with a class of 25 students! While I lived there I learned how to fish, swim, pick up tarantulas, look out for rattlesnakes, water ski, snowboard, hunt, and camp. Prior to becoming a teacher I owned a small farm and sold my goods at the farmer's markets here in Sonoma County and in San Francisco. I earned my B. A degree from UC San Diego in History with an Emphasis in Latin America and also an A. A degree in International Studies. I have a passion for fashion, art, and learning languages. I would love to have more opportunities to practice speaking Spanish. I met my husband Nathan while working towards our pilot's licenses and we have one son named Jett who is eight years old. We have three dogs; this is our Saint Bernard Rose in the picture, two cats, and three chickens. In my free time, I like to swim with the U.S. Masters club, exercise, work in the garden, paint and practice the D.J skills I learned during the pandemic. Currently, I am enrolled in a teacher credential program and am new to teaching this year. I have been a Substitute Teacher, Teacher's Aide, Office Assistant, and Instructional Materials Tech in Sonoma County off and on since moving here in 2013.

How Does Nature Inspire You?

The pink photo is a sunset at Bodega Bay, the grassy field is a sunrise with frost-covered grass at Olema Campground in Point Reyes, and the large photo is South Lake Tahoe.
